In this article, we will explain the special paper types used for food packaging.

FSC CERTIFIED PAPER

FSC certified papers are produced from renewable forests, which are trees grown exclusively for papermaking. It is of international importance in terms of sustainability. There are three label types, FSC 100%, FSC Mix, or FSC Recycled.

AQUA PAPER

Aqua+ paper is a new oil and moisture resistant, water-based dispersion coating that provides the necessary protection and food safety for frozen and refrigerated food packaging. Aqua dispersion coatings increase the fiber yield from the material during recycling. Dispersion means "sprinkle, dispersion". The dispersion allows more fibers to be recovered in the recycling process compared to alternative barrier solutions. Dispersion coating reduces the use of plastic, which increases costs for packers, such as expanded producer responsibility (EPR) fees.

CKB COATING PAPER

CKB Coating Paper is a type of cardboard with strong fibers with a fiber content of 100% (primary cellulose), usually one side is white and the other side is kraft, although there are also coatings with kraft on both sides. There is a barrier between the CKB cardboard layers that prevents air permeability and moisture permeability. Strong kraft fibers make CKB extremely material-efficient. It draws attention with its moisture resistance thanks to the special plastic derivative coatings applied to the inner and outer surfaces. It is ideal for use in both chilled and frozen food packages stored in coolers between +4 and -18 degrees.
